Miscellaneous Data
From Mercy Medical Center, Redding: 150 cases presenting to the MMC emergency room during 2004 were specifically coded as methamphetamine-induced illness or injury. Cases in which the patient had used methamphetamine but the use of meth did not directly cause the illness or injury for which they sought emergency room help, or in which the patient suffered injury by abuse from a methamphetamine user, were usually not coded for methamphetamine. Personnel involved agree that there were many of these.
